the organization that runs the soup kitchen chose to change the name of our soup kitchen and the other kitchen that they run for children, that is much larger and has an actual "escuelita" (small 4 classroom school area) in it. they feel that a center like this should feel like a home to the children that go there...hence the new name "the house of the children". the ultimate goal is to teach the children about things like love, kindness, and respect. but also, they want the kids to feel all those things when they walk through the door. so that is what we are trying to make happen! :)
